IMA's membership includes a diverse range of individuals: management accountants, financial & information management professionals just beginning their careers, and Presidents & CFOs of major corporations, just to name a few.  Membership also includes Certified Public Accountants, educators, students, and many involved with federal, state and local governments.

Membership in the Institute is open to all persons who are interested in the goals and objectives of the Institute, to subscribe to the "Bylaws of the IMA."

Types of Memberships

Professional Membership: Receive all regular services and benefits offered by the IMA and its chapter. Participation in member interest groups and the publication is available with additional fees.

Young Professional Membership is available to those individuals who have met the admission criteria for membership, reside in the U.S., Canada or Mexico and have not yet reached their 33rd birthday. A Young Professional will be automatically transferred to the status of Regular member on the renewal date immediately following the member's 33rd birthday. Dues for a Young Professional member are 2/3 of regular member dues.

To qualify for Student Membership, individuals must be enrolled in at least six (6) undergraduate or graduate credit hours, or the equivalent, per semester.Student Membership can be held for a maximum of six (6) years. Students who become Regular Professional Members cannot revert back to Student Membership. Student Members must reside in the U.S., Canada or Mexico.

Educators Membership: Full time educators who receive a 50% discount on the annual dues. IMA Retired Membership is open to any IMA member in good standing for three (3) consecutive years, who has retired from active employment and is at least 55 years old.

IMA Emeritus Membership is open to any IMA member in good standing who has retired from active employment, has been an IMA member for 20 years, and has served as a Chapter/Council or National Board volunteer leader for five (5) years.
