The CMA program consists of four examinations:
Part 1: Business Analysis - 3 hours, 110 multiple choice questions
Part 2: Management Accounting and Reporting - 4 hours, 140 multiple choice questions
Part 3: Strategic Management - 3 hours, 110 multiple choice questions
Part 4: Business Applications - 3 hours, 3-7 written-response essays and problems
Parts 1, 2, and 3 must be passed before registering for Part 4. Score reports for the first three parts are immediately available at the testing center. Results for Part 4 are mailed 4-8 weeks after the test.
All examinations are computer-based and offered by Thomson Prometric, a worldwide network of testing centers. Parts 1, 2, and 3 are offered daily in accordance with local customs. Part 4 is offered during the months of February, May, August, and November. To locate a Testing Center and to schedule exam appointments, visit www.prometric.com. In general, an exam must be taken within the assigned authorization window. A 60-day extension of the authorization window is allowed for unforeseen circumstances; the fee for this extension is $30. To change testing windows for Part 4, the fee is $50.
